Steering column issues

Hello, I have a 71 F250 automatic transmission that the column will not stay in park. I took the column apart to rebuild but I can’t see/find any issues that would cause this issue; the shift lock out plate looks a bit worn but I am unsure if this could be the only reason that the truck will not stay in park. Is there an aftermarket column that is a direct replacement for these truck as it is going to cost me over $500 to have the rebuild parts to Canada and I am thinking it would be cheaper and easier to just replace the column versus repairing it

There should be an adjustment on the rod going down to the transmission.
The rod is slotted and has a lock nut.
if the cab mounts settle it throws the adjustment off.

If the front cab supports have rusted, there may be some movement there, and the adjustment will not hold, same thing with clutch adjustments, for MT trucks. You can get a tilt kit, to change the column, but it will be more work and cost than rebuilding the existing column. The kits are GM based.
