CV IFS Missing Alignment Pin

Hello, Hello, as the title says my recently pulled IFS is lacking an alignment pin. I didn’t realize it until I was home, no big deal I figured I’d run back to the yard at lunch today and sniff around until I found it stuck in the frame or in the ground somewhere. Well, surprise they crushed the car early this morning, not a trace of it. My thinking is continue as planned with all measurements and prescribed drilling of holes for the pins. I plan to align driver side with the pin and possibly replace the dowel on the other side with a grade 8 bolt of proper size and length. Thoughts???

If that's the pin I think it is , it's basically there to help assembly at the factory
a plain bolt should be more than enough for your needs.
