What's a good price for 1965 mustang bucket seats?

Post by Ohiotinkerer »

Found a pair of 1965 Mustang bucket seats in decent condition - need reupholstered but not torn up or beat to death with the seat tracks still on them. Asking price of $250 for both with the back seat which I don't need but can resell - is this a good price? Asking because I've never looked at them until I decided that's what I want for my '67 bump project and they are only an hour from me!

That's a great price. I see them sell for $500.00 a pair in worst condition then those. Do you have the mounting brackets for the bucket seats to mount in your truck? If not, that's another $175.00 So for $425.00 your still getting a good deal.

Thanks guys! They've been on Craigslist for over a month so I figure if I show up with cash ready to load them up i can probably get them for $200 or less......I just talked to him so I'm gonna run up Sat afternoon and get a look a them...... Hopefully I can cram them into the PT Loser if I put the seats down since they salted the hell out of the roads yesterday and it's snowing today.......another 2-3 weeks before I can drive the '68........ :cuss:

I will have to find the mounting brackets but did find that Copper State Components sells them new for $200 shipped so I may just go that route.......they also sell a front tilt hood kit that I'm thinking would look really cool on it......... :hd:

I paid $160 for mine but the upholstery was in a little worse shape than yours and the seat slides needed a lot of work.

They are gonna get redone so I'm not worried about that as much as I gotta see how rusty the frame and tracks are - joy of living in the moisture soaked salt bath state known as Ohio........ ........I'm hoping that they have been decently stored and didn't come out of a car that was calling apart from rust.......

Somewhere here in this vast...website Keith built for us all exists a "junkyard grab list" guys that had the most desired bump parts to look out for when picking the boneyards, (thinking it also had rough prices on what we'd pay for items like the Stang seats / F-600 cluister /etc)? :hmm:

Thanks for that - I'll see if the guys in fab can work them up for me with those!.....

Picked the seats up earlier today - he didn't want to sell just the fronts so I got the whole set for $225 and I'll just sell the back seats myself.....best part of the day though was seeing the '74 F250 4wd that his dad bought new that he restored!.......... :D

Might consider an alternate mounting. I made a frame to mount mine so I could incorporate a console jump seat for mine. Page 31-36 in my build thread.
