1969 f100 Restomod
Started work on my 69 long box .Need completed in time for July 2015 Atlantic Nationals car show,I promised my daughter we would be in it this year. Chose the 69 ford pickup because I love the style of those trucks, and bottom line , a project truck is more useful than a project car, you can use it to haul all kinds of stuff, then go for that Sunday drive.
So I am on a time crunch, as I travel lots for work ,I only have the odd weekends to work on it.I wont have time to do everything I want to do to it in the 1st year. My deadline is July 9th 2015.
So here are my plans and purchases so far.
Truck:
1969 Custom cab long box
originally had 360 ci,last owner replaced it with a 1978 351m/400.
C6 transmission, ford 9 inch ( not sure how to check what type gears in it, hoping someone can help me with that here)
Plans 1st year:
"WANTS"
4 barrel carb -summit racing
Weiand action plus intake -summit racing
Headers -summit racing
Original ford steering wheel (purchased on ebay) to replace the tiny weeny steering someone installed on it.
8 track tape player- just because its cool
20 inch Dodge Ram wheels 2006 style, dressed with American racing polished alum torq thrust style center caps
Rear roll pan - will cut half moon holes in them and pass exhaust through.
2 inch rear shackle drop- just want to level it for now...
smaller rear view mirrors
"NEEDS"
Radiator- damn its expensive
Seat cover
So plans are to fix all rust, all holes for various mirror style installs, paint black with flat clearcoat .letter designs in the doors to make it look like a parts truck.
year 2 :
Will see how things go , planning to install Crown vic front end and rebuild engine .
Here is what i have done so far.

Update:Fitted my hood and adjusted door gaps and fender gaps. Starting to fix the 40 years of dents and small waves all around .Lots of work to do, but taking the time and patience to do this step right will bring rewards towards the end when its all painted.
