There is only one way in and out of the truck, the open passenger side. They needed the diamond plate on the floor due to the walking on and out they needed a heavy material to support the weight. The drivers door is permently sealed, and the driver can only exit on the curb side for safety.
The cold plates are stainless steel, filled with a liquid that when the cooling lines pass thru, it chills down to -10, and holds that temp for the whole day.
I don’t know if the whole chassis is the campers special, but I know the master cyl. And the brakes are off the campers special.
1969 was the last year that the Good Humor trucks were made this way, after that date they all were the step van type. They were easier the get around in. I would hate to have to get in and out of my truck 100s of times a day.

If you ever find a Good Humor truck for sale, and everything is there, it is a great investment. There are very few of these left, and they are increasing in value every year. One in close to perfect shape is worth up to $50,000.00.
Just make sure that the porcelain on the freezer box are in good shape, (the ice cream box is all porcelain, with the Good Humor Logo baked in) and all the parts are there, Trash can, top advertising sign above the windshield, wing boards and brackets. Finding one with everything still there, and porcelain in good shape is very rare. The rear of the freezer box unbolts to let you onside to repair any lines, or the lighting.
Mine was missing the original rear bumpers, and I had one made until I can find a original. I was told by some collectors that there are less than 10 that they know of in the condition of mine, and only about 150 or so left around that are in rough shape.
I drove to NY last winter to buy another that was suppose to be in great shape, He guaranteed me I would love it, and it was in as good a shape as mine, Ha Ha joke was on me, the thing was a wreck, stuff screwed up that couldn’t be repaired. I would have given him $4000.00 for it.
I have really been enjoying reading past posting on this board. It seem like a bunch or great guy helping each other. I wish I had know about this board in spring of 2004 when I was rebuilding my GH truck.

I love talking about my Good Humor truck. It would be hard to own a Good Humor truck with out having it full of ORIGINAL Good Humor Ice Cream, and playing the part of the Good Humor Man that is half the fun of my truck, and I have FUN with it. THANKS FOR GIVING ME A PLACE TO BRAG IT UP A LITTLE.

Could you possibly make a stop in Derry NH? We'ld buy your whole inventory just to see that truck. My neighbor, when I was a kid had a 58 ford truck that was an Ice cream truck. Boy, did we make out good.
