I do not think so from what i have seen the 78-79 hubs have the lockout splines as a part of the hub and on the earlier style the lockout splines bolt to the hub with the rest of the lockout assy.

Ya I would use the complete rotor and hub if it will fit on the 78-79 spindle

Yeah nope... The spicer lockouts where specific to closed knuckle Dana 60's, and also the hd 44.

The 76,77 highboy has them with a 44HD
That's why I was thinking even if you had to use knuckles, spindles & outer axle shafts they would work.
Basically use a 1979 44 high pinion housing in a Highboy truck
