All,
I have a 1970 F-100 longwheel base 2WD 302 with a 3.03 behind it. I use this truck like a 3/4 ton (I have 3/4 ton Flex-O-Matic springs in the back) so I'm planning on swapping the 3.03 for a NP435 to gain the granny 1st and reverse. I have scoured the internet for information on this swap and I am missing a few answers to questions. Here are my questions being that I have a NP435 from a 1978 F-250 longwheel base 2WD (engine unknown).
1. Will the input shaft be the same length, diameter, and have the same amount of splines?
2. Will I be able to use the same 2-piece driveshaft that was used for my 3.03?
3. Are the output yokes the same size?
Thanks.
