Hi all,
New here to the forums. I recently purchased a 1967 F100 352 V8 4OTF long bed. The back passenger side tire fell off - with half the axle attached -while I was driving it. I live in a tiny town in the north GA mountains, so my options for repair shops are very limited. They've had it for 8 weeks now, and I'm no closer to getting it back with 4 tires than I was when it got towed there. I'm not having a lot of luck looking on line, so I'm here looking for any advice on where to purchase a rear end. When I do a search, I come up with all kinds of options, but then when I enter my truck's specs, it always says it won't work on my truck. I am new to all of this, so I don't even know what questions to ask! Thank you in advance for any and all advice you can throw my way!

Pictures would help , But let me guess.
The wheel is still attached to the axle , does the shaft still have the splines on the other end.?
If so you might only need the wheel bearing.
The bearing is pressed on the axle and held into the axle housing with 4 bolts. the bearing can fail and the axle will slide out .

So , you probably don't need a whole rearend Maybe a bearing and seal. Maybe an axle shaft.
'67 was a odd year 68 and up are different from the flange out. the axle will fit the housing but the brakes are different.
That's IF nobody swapped parts in the last 50 years.

I had the same thing happen in Chattanooga, (guaranteed a parts store there will have what you need on the shelf)!
On the Ford half ton axles there is a bearing "retainer" that holds the axle/bearing/and I believe the seal too into the axle tube.
Pics please will help us all here if you can get one or two uploaded.
Part number 420 in this image/a new seal/a new bearing/and the pressed on bearing retainer, (and probably the four bolts that hold it to the axle) should be all you need IF IT IS THE MOST COMMON USED AXLE IN OUR BUMPS THE FORD 9".
EDIT: YOU'LL PROB ALSO NEED A NEW AXLE SHAFT, YOU'LL NEED THE OLD ONE TO COUNT THE SPLINES TO ORDER A NEW ONE).
These guys would have every part you'd need for any axle in the truck, (once you know all the parts you need). It would usually cost more to rebuild the axle like this if you can't find a direct replacement axle to swap in, (but you'll wind up buying new U-Joint to do that so the cost will usually equal out).

SOLD-71 F-350 dually flatbed, 302 / .030 over V-8 with a "baby"C-6, B & M truckshifter, Dana70/4.11 ratio, intermittent wipers, tilt steering, full LED lighting on the flat bed, and no stereo yet (this way I can hear the rattles to diagnose)! SOLD!
Many Ford bumps / one 76' EB / and several dents through the years.
A lot of "oddball" Ford parts collected from working on them for 34 years now!

Hope you got your truck back on the road. I am originally from Cleveland, GA and 20+ years ago you could get what you needed at NAPA (Slack Auto Parts) if they are still there. I have a '68 that churned a lot of rocks up that way.
