Step one was made yesterday to get The Pearl back on the road. 460 C6 was removed from the doner truck. This weekend the engine and trans will be taken out of The Pear and made ready for it's replacement. If all goes well, she should be running by Sunday evening.

Remember BobbyFord's 460 install being one of the first here years ago, (he'd be on the list of folks to reach out to if anything seems out of the ordinary on your build).

Also remember his video once he got it running and it was a rocket that would plant you into the seat back-yeehaw!

The Pearl had a 460 and c6 already in it. Though I have yet to drive it. Both very tired. Sunday I removed the old and put in the 460 C6 from the doner truck. Now need to bolt everything back up replace drivers side motor mount and fill with fluids.

Couple issues to resolve. Nothing major, motor mount, broken bolt on the coolant housing. Got replacements for both. Just need to replace those and start bolting everything up. Then put the distributor in. Hopefully it will be cool this weekend. Didn't really make any progress last Sunday other than some sun burn.

Have really been moving since October 2020. Both motor mounts have been replaced, new water pump, timing chain and gear, and timing cover. Purchased a new radiator, overflow, and shroud. Pulled the heater box to replace the heater core and all gaskets inside. Kit from DC. Will be pulling gas tanks to get them serviced. Dropped almost $1000.00 from NPD, LMC, and DC as well as parts from work. Got a new headliner to put in, holes cut in it to mount speakers. Air cleaner is getting cleaned up and painted.

Also have new brake shoes, pads, wheel cylinders and hardware kits. Just ordered my Painless 3G kit and picked up a new alternator yesterday from work. My new IVR arrived yesterday. Started working on tank removal on Sunday, but some idiot parked a non running vehicle next to it, so now I can no longer open the drivers door all the way. I didn't think that out completely.

So I realize I threw away my water pump backing plate from the old pump (probably a good idea considering how rusty it was), so I ordered a new one from EBay and installed it on Sunday as well as starting my 3G install. Luckily for me, PO had a dual belt pulley. I will be off this Saturday so will be working on it all weekend. Started on the cargo light mod as well.

Got my carb back today from a friend who offered to rebuild it and install the electric choke for me. Looks amazing. Will be putting it on this weekend, bypassing some of the tinkering to complete a lot of items to bring it closer to starting.
