Help with a 1969 F250 door latch assembly

Post by christcentered247 »

One of the springs inside the latch assembly on the driver's side door is broken. I've been searching for hours and I cannot find a new part to replace it. Any suggestions what can I do to solve the problem?

Just replace the latch assembly. Not something that can be rebuilt. I believe new ones are available.

The inside latch mechanism is readily available. The one on the end of the door that contacts the striker.....no luck. If you find one NOS it'll be expensive. About your only chance is used on ebay or junk yard. Same latch on all 68-72 F100-F350. A great junk yard search engine is car-part.com. Most will ship but you might find one in driving distance.
