1972 ford f100 turn signal wire colors

Post by prayer1969 »

Ok, looked at thunder foots diagram. none of my colors on the signal side are correct, have a blue green wire and no orange. Try hooking up and only horn works. Anyone got a good photo of the connector and the wires?

Ps. Doe my wire loom holder, connect to neutral safety switch? have no good pictures

I don't know if this will be much help, but mine has a large connector and a small connector for the column harness. The larger connector has 5 wires going into it and the smaller connector has 2 wires. In the large connector there's a white-blue stripe wire attached to a pin by itself. Next to the white-blue stripe wire are two more wires attached to the next two pins, one of these wires is light green and the other one is green-white. There are two more pins next to those, one pin has a light blue wire attached, the other pin has a dark blue-yellow stripe wire attached. The dark blue-yellow stripe wire is the horn.

The smaller connector has two wires going into it. One wire is orange with a blue stripe. The other wire is green-orange stripe. My truck is a '69. I don't know if the wire colors stayed the same through the Bump years.

Orange with blue stripe is wire #5, connects to Wire #282 (Green) and provides signal for the right rear lamp
Green with Orange stripe is wire #9, connects to Wire #283 (Yellow with Black stripe) and provides signal for the left rear lamp.

Not sure if it'll help but my rebuild thread has some clise ups of the plug and wires on my '71 column. About halfway down the page. http://www.fordification.com/forum/view ... =5&t=72274.

Also, did you look at the connector chart, LH side, connector C-21. http://www.fordification.com/tech/wirin ... legend.jpg
