Unknown hole in floorboard/firewall
My searching has not turned up the origin of this passthrough, other than allowing water under the mat to start the ever so slow oxidation process

That's the hole for the clutch rod to go through the floor board. If it was a automatic it would have a plate on it.

I went from a 3 spd on the column to an automatic. I took a piece of aluminum flashing, fabbed a gasket, coated it with RTV and used sheet metal screws to cap it off.
