I ordered me some of these http://www.lmctruck.com/icatalog/fb/full.aspx?Page=83 Just curious if anyone else has tried them? Was gonna do a light bar but needed a head light anyway so figured I'd see what these do.

I have a set of similar one that lasted a day on the truck. They had a red spot in the middle which didn't bother me a lot but the flat lens cover completely ruined the trucks look. They also cast a blue light that looked bad and the focus wasn't that good. I went with a pair of Sylvania extra-visions. I checked and was only losing .25 volts through the wires to the lamp so I didn't go with relays. After running the truck at night the new bulbs are @ 10-15% brighter than the old '68 FoMoCo's I had in it.

Re: Head lights
Excessive amp draw causing the CB to trip. I forget where it's located, I think it's part of the switch on ours.

Re: Head lights
I believe he is correct. It is a little thermal breaker/switch in the headlight switch assembly itself. Over time they get weak and open when hot then reclose when cooled off. I had a 1965 Mustang which did the same. New switch should help mitigate that.Ranchero50 wrote:Excessive amp draw causing the CB to trip. Instead of the headlights' current going through the switch to the headlights, all the switch will do is provide a low curent signal to engage the respective relay ( hi beam or low beam) thus sourcing the voltage (and current) directly from the battery.
Direct experiential events regarding this particular issue was apparently necessary.
Your next move should be blatantly obvious.

Re: Head lights
That's why LMC has to do so much advertising on car and truck shows. They have cheap products and don't stand behind their crap.

Re: Head lights
I bought the LMC harness my truck has the three prong headlight connectors and it works great. Although I wish the relays were the standard bosch type so if one goes all I need is a trip to the parts store.
