Prerunner bumpstops

Post by mybros71 »

I am installing a 5 inch Autofab lift on my daughter's 71 F100 and need to engineer some bumpstops. I had to remove the factory rubbers because the kit utilizes larger F600 springs, plus they weren't real strong when the truck rolled off the assembly line. I do not want to put air bumps in but rather a compact mount under the frame instead of beside it. The truck will only see light off-road use but it needs to function well if she finds a dip and look good too. I've been told billet aluminum is acceptable as most of the high density foam or rubber units will squirt out after a few harsh cycles. I don't want to go to the extreme of billet but I don't want a lightweight rubber piece either.

Please let me have your opinions on this.

Thanks

Tony

Seriously, the best truck I've ever owned, without exception.
