100 mph

Post by willowbilly3 »

A few nights ago I was coming home from my gf's house and the old crewcab was feeling kind of frisky so I gave the old steed her head and rocked right up to 95 with ease but a car got in my way. I had to see if she would make the 100 mark so I did it the next morning. No problem

Outstanding...nice ain't it. Makes you proud.

Nice to see you were coming from the GF's house. Good company is hard to find, so when you do find it...hang on.

I've been a little leary to go over 90 with the 67. It sounds like a freight train at anything over 60. I'll air it someday just to see if she'll do it. :D

Something about that clear night air just does things to a man and an old truck. I used to have a 69 highboy with 4.10 gears and a 58 car 332 engine. Some nights I would run for miles with it flat out at 95 just to hear those straight pipes sing.
No sleep overs at the GF's house yet. Probably wouldn't go over real well with her momma and 16 year old son. Maybe when her new house is finnished. It will have their rooms on the opposite side of the house so they can't hear all the screaming.

Plus with the gearing mine has, it would have to turn about 10,000 rpm to get to 100 mph.
Engine parts all over everywhere!

According to my calculations that is only around 4000 rpms so she should have a lot more left. It would probably take more carb than the stock 2 bbl. to get much more tho.
