Cowl Hoods
I want a cowl hood for my 1969 ford ranger...is there anywhere I can find one or would I need to get it fabricated?

Oh, by the way to the forum. You should hit the "welcome mat" and intro youself. Post some pics if you have any. We like pics.

There's a bunch for the old chebby pickups and even some for the '73+ Fords but I haven't seen any for our year trucks.

Hey wait a minute! I think there's a drag truck in the rotating picture with a cowl hood.

re: Cowl Hoods
I know that '73-up cowl hoods are available, but I've never seen one for the '67-'72 trucks. I've always understood that the '73-up hoods will fit on our trucks with some minor tweaking, but I haven't tried it personally to find out. You can check out the following link for those:
http://www.up22.com/ranger.htm#FD-794
Otherwise, you'd have to get a cowl scoop and graft it on to your steel hood.

re: Cowl Hoods
I bought a harwood cowl for mine, then i attached it to my stock 70 hood, finished it off with some glass and looks like it belongs there. its even functional.
not the best pic, i have to get some newer ones.

re: Cowl Hoods
its missing the body lines going up the middle. plus it seems real narrow for that wide hood. thats the same problem with the cowl hood for my 64 falcon hardtop . they make one but it has the chevy looking cowl. its missing the falcon cool body lines that go down and back up. if you look at a 70 chevy hood its not as tall and wide. it sits between the fenders. i wish i had some better pics. i need to get it weld back on. nice job with that one looks pretty good. hers a pic of mine on the truck.

re: Cowl Hoods
heres a better pic, i went with the rib in the middle to keep the body line like the stock hood had the rib. could have been wider, but i wanted it proportionate. i got the idea from the little truck picture that shows up on here once in awhile. just wish mine looked that good. for a daily driver, it will do. but yes mine could look alot better
