My truck was originally purchased by my uncle's friend in 1970. Uncle Bill bought it in the mid 70's after it had a fresh rebuild on the motor. He named it Fred, and it has been Fred ever since  It was sold or given to my cousin a few years ago. When he decided to get rid of it, he sold it to me for $100. It took me 4 trips to repair enough of the "fixing up" on it to drive it home. The wiring was a mess. Until I got it, it had spent its whole life in Green Forest, Arkansas.

I bought mine from an older gentleman that picked it up at usedcar lot in Granbury, Texas to use for hauling computers and desks also used it to transport belongings to and from his lake house. It sat on a concrete slab behind his house, I olged it from afar for a year before I approched him to sell it,as it happens he had just been downsized,he was a senior computer programer for a major insurance copany here in Ft Worth. Not much is known before he got it, other than some kid had it prior to that and tried to make a REDNECK hot rod out of it , and a damn fine job he did of it indeed , the floors, firewall and lower dash have more holes in them than a 10lb block of swiss cheese , the core support I discover this last week has been butchered to get this over sized radiator w/tranny cooler in it , has a gaint hole in the tranny hump wherea floorshif once residded , now a BB with automatic the only thing that was done correct was the removal of the tree shift 3 speed and clutch pedal and parts and the instalation of the auto coulmn shifter althought I belive all that had to be change for that is the collar itself . Wont belong until the big block comes out and the 302 and c-6 go in , gonna flip the rear end and lower in the front .

Traveling in my new job I have seen lots of parts prospect trucks all around the lowerhill country to the south even 1 or 2 that might serve as candidates for the BB and mx auto {just aquired a 17 yr stepson that needs wheels and there is not much wrong with the bb other than needing some reseal work

well i hope this dont look to bad my spell check aint werkin

Well, word has it that Elvis bought my crewcab new and presented it to Zsa Zsa Gabor as a gift. She had her staff use it to haul poodle chow in and poodle doodle out for a couple years until they contracted that service out. Then John Delorean bought it and used it to haul cocaine from the air strip until he got on his feet. Then it was sold to the June Taylor dancers and used only once as a prop afterwhich it languished for several years in the studio shed. It was then sold on auction to Ken Keasey. He took it on a roadtrip retracing the original route they took with the magic bus but gave up halfway through because they just couldn't find good acid out on the road. They sold it for bus tickets home and it ended up being abandoned near president Reagan's ranch. Well the SS suspected a conspiracy when they found it so they took it back and totally dismantled it. Finding nothing they sold it off on another auction, in boxes. Some parts from a lunar orbiter got mixed in at this point and when the mistake was discovered the feds confiscated the who thing and brought it back. It took several more years to get it all sorted out but they did eventually disperse of the unwanted parts via the LDS where the guy I bought it from had got it. I am still trying to figure out how to get my original line setting sheet and radio delete plate back from the surface of the moon.

Well, my first 67-72 was a 1970, I bought from a friend's Dad...don't know anyhting else about it. The next one was my 1969 Ranger, a truly beautiful truck...I bought it in 1990 from a guy in Clarksville, TN. He had it since the early 80's and was restoring it. Unfortunately for him, he was going through a bitter, ugly, violent divorce, so he sold it only to ensure his soon to be ex-wife did not get her hands on it. He was crying when I drove it away...

My most current 1969 F100 I purchased froma friend in Leesville, LA...he had it since 1995, he bought it from a guy he kknew who had gotten it from an auction, where the truck had been a Forest Service Truck.

My truck always wanted to be Willowbillys truck. :shh:

it was a nursery truck with a flat bed until the mid-late eighties.

How can we top Willow's story??? Sounds like something Forrest Gump would have happen to him!
Mine was a "ranch" pickup all it's life, and everyone that used it there found something heavy to drop on the bedrails, or bottom of the box.. looks like it's been through the war!!! Somewhere along the way, the report is that a tree got dropped on the right side of the cab (someone always wanted to be a logger? ) so the hood, right fender, and some misc parts were replaced and repainted with the finest housepaint that you could get at the local hardware store in the "returns" bin. There seems to be about a pound of bondo in the right rear corner of the cab, but that will all get straightened out when it comes time to paint. All in all it only wound up with about 77,000 miles on it.... but they're HARD miles and it shows it!!

You know, I'm starting to wonder if maybe J.B. has been taking some creative writing courses? ;) A few of his posts lately definitely show some imagination!

Thats an easy one to solve. First you got to go to NASA with a sawed off shotgun. Then tell them that you want to be an astranut (they'll say yes because of the shotgun). After that "borrow" a spaceship and go and get it.

I finally got something right. 8)

Wondering if J.B. is hallucinating due to skin contact from the acid and cocaine reside off the parts of the truck he has touched ...and is he willing to share :) [/quote]

Well I tried that once and told them I wanted to go to the sun. They said "You can't go to the sun, you would melt". I said "No I wouldn't, I'd go at night"
I heard that moonbuggy has some wicked titaniun dana 60s in it, maybe I could snag those if I get up there. I wonder if the spaceship has a 2 inch ball so I could pull my trailer?

You know Willow I do look forward to your posts! I bought a 67 F250 (my second) about 7 years ago from a friend of the family. This truck was bought new from a dealer in No. California by a horse rancher. He used the truck around the place for 5 or 6 years and then had a massive heart attack and tipped over. His wife did'nt know how to drive a stick shift but she knew enough about cars and trucks to keep everything turning every once and awhile. About once a week she would climb in the old beast , fire it up,jam it into 1st gear and then idle down the quarter mile driveway to collect the mail, then she would jam it into reverse and idle back up the driveway to the carport and shut it off. She did this for a number of years, every once in awhile having her nephew drive it into town and gas up. She eventually sold the truck to another family member up here in Washington and he used it to haul his travel trailer around. I found out he was looking to sell it cuz his family was getting bigger and they all did'nt fit in the cab of this truck. They bought a used 92 chev crewcab. I paid $850 bucks for a real nice springtime yellow 352 4 speed with 52000 original miles on it. We still have it. One hell of a great deal! rick.....

Mine was a logger! one of the P.O.'s used it to pull logs out of the forests they were clear-cutting at the time. said it would outpull the skidder every day pound to pound.
now it has a boom on the back and just pulls engines and old hulkers around the yard!
