Emblem questions Ranger or Custom
I am not smart enought to figure our if my truck was a custom-ranger xlt. The bed has three holes that are in a triangle shape and I wondered what emblems use that pattern.

If it's a Ranger, the chrome will be about 3' wide down the sides of the body.

re: Emblem questions Ranger or Custom
My problem is the chrome is gone, the emblems are gone. Did the Rangers have the chrome headliner pieces or were they painted like the customs?

My Ranger has chrome headliner trim, it's a '68.

re: Emblem questions Ranger or Custom
Mine had part of the headliner set and it was painted. Also there is another whole towards the tailgate so I'm guessing it is a custom. Now how do you know if it has the explorer package?

re: Emblem questions Ranger or Custom
The Explorers had an unusual kind of plaid cloth insert in the seat as well as a glove box nameplate. It was a marketing package to dress up the Custom a bit. There was also tailgate chrome and boxside nameplates; I walked by a set on a 72 at the wreckers a few months ago but got distracted by something else and forgot to grab them. I think these are really rare.
