F100 SuperNationals picture page

Post by FORDification »

With Trevor's permission, I've posted all the pictures he's taken at the F100 SuperNationals onto a single page, so you folks don't have to go searching all over the place for the threads he's attached pictures too.

Thanks Trevor!.....these are some great shots! It just makes me determined to make it there next year!

Click here to see the pics!

Just for future reference, the picture page is linked to from the website's front page and from the Site Index.

Couple a questions and comments about a few of the trucks posted on that link. I really like what Todd Crow did with his tail gate, I want to do something similar, but in less reflective brushed SS.
But my question is on the rear glass with chrome trim. I have never seen that before. Maybe I just never noticed, but is that XLT trim? I like that! A couple of the trucks there have it. I wonder about finding a rear window seal for it, is it hard to find? Anyone know?
Last comment, and this is just a personal pet pieve, but I can't stand all the hoods up! Let me take a pic with your hood closed and ask if you want to see the motor!

The rear trim is actually fairly common. The seals are reproduced and are readily available. The trim is not specifically an XLT item...I believe it was available on all but base models....but I'll have to double-check to be certain.

As a member of a car club that hosts the nation's largest single-day car show in the country, and also a judge at the show, I can answer that question.

Here anyway, the judges have specific orders to NOT touch the vehicle. If you need access to the engine bay, interior or trunk, you have to ask the vehicle owner to open it if it's closed. Since you don't really know WHEN the judges are going to come around, it's requested that the vehicle owners keep the hood, trunk and at least one door open. If it ain't accessible when the judges come around, then that area won't get judged...which will REALLY hurt your points.

Plus it makes it easier for the public to see. Most owners would be more than happy to close things up for a photograph...I've never had one say no yet. They're just happy someone wants a shot of their vehicle. Heck, I've even had owner's come up to me while I'm shooting their vehicle for the website and ask me if I'd prefer some shots with everything closed up....and they wouldn't know me from Adam.

Thanks Keith, that's so weird I have never seen (or maybe noticed in the right word) the chrome trim before. I know none of the trucks I've owned had it, but some have had the front trim on the windshield.
That makes sense on the hood deal. But I still like seeing them with everything closed up. There is a reason all the car mags don't leave hoods and doors up when doing a spread.

Go to my Webshots gallery I took several but Keith thought this was a 67-72 website. I also have a thing for sweet uni-bodies.

I asked Todd and Leon to close their hoods for a picture so I know there were those Two with hood closed, and the Yellow & White 2 toner on Day 4, the Metalic Beige, Carl and his 16K mile 69, etc. But yeah thats the Car Show Yawn - my daughter took a unique pic at a small show from end of row with all the hoods up and called it Gentlemen Start Your Engines.
