Got my 69 home today!!!!

Post by mercman1953 »

Well I finally got my 69 lwb home today. I bought it from mickster here on the forumn. I thought I was going to get it one day this next week but mick called me today and said that I could get it today. A little trouble getting it home. The fuel filter kept plugging up on me. Finally found a pep boys and put a new filter and got going. It is a really straight truck and I am really happy to have it. I have to thank Mick for working this deal for me. He really didn't want to give the truck up, but he finally gave it up. Here are the pics that I took when I got it home tonight. Needs some cleaning up and some spit and polish but I will get to that while I drive the wheels off it. I will post pics when I can figure out why it keeps giving me an upload error.

That looks just like a '69 I bought earlier this year - except mine was an abandoned project so its in pieces and had no engine. But its orange with black roof and had the awful looking (jmho) burgandy dash pad, steering column and carpet. What were they thinking!?!?!?!?

Anyways - nice ride!!

Thanks for the compliments guys. I appreciate that coming from the forum.

wt4spd I know mick was racking up miles on the truck I told him he could. Mick has been great working with me so I could get this truck so when he asked me if he could use the truck and I was more than happy to say yes.

Mick gave me something when I picked up the truck that I haven't seen in a while. The original warranty card for the truck! Take a look.

Man, I see why Mickster had a hard time giving it up. That's a straight truck! Nice.
