front brakes upgraded

Post by customcrewcab »

well i finished getting the old rotors machined today. i got the rotors turned off and then had to machine the holes for the larger wheel studs. i also had to countersink holes. i had to run 3.5 inch arp studs so i could run my 1" spacers and still have a inch of thread for the lugs. the calipers are huge and i had to run a 3" hat to clear the wheel. on the front i had to space it out 1" to clear the spindle. i am using whats left of the old rotor as a hub to hold the slide over 13" rotor. i still need to make the brackets for the calipers but am waiting for the 2" drop spindles to make sure they are the same. heres some pics

i have to make brackets so i might draw them in autocad and have them cut, but because theres only two i prob just cut them on the bandsaw. they are nascar brakes and are bigger then the standard 6 piston wilwood calipers. the think the pistons are spread out farther then normal. they are radial mount so i just have to make a braket to go to the radial mount. the biggest thing is getting the offset out. i have these on all 4 corners so it should stop real good. hydroboost should be here this week.
looks good behind the wheel.

Your truck would be fun to cruise in. What kind of attention do you get?

it got alot attention before when it was stock and lets just say i have a bunch on people stop when it was parked outside asking about it. i live off a side street and it was parks about 200 feet from the road. i started getting pissed at everyone stoping and saying you want to sell that. i always say its not out front for sale and you don't have enough money. the last straw was two work trucks pulled in loaded with works when i had my shop open. i moved it back in that day. funny thing a guy at work said he knew where i lived when i told him i had a slammed crew. i guess eveyone will know that truck when it gets on the road.
