I was able to spend all of today in the garage, and I got quite a bit done. A previous owner had punched a hole through the bottom of the firewall in the middle. Apparently he just used a hammer and a punch do git it done. So the first thing to do today was patch it up.
Instead of just hammering the rough flanges back in I decided to do it a little nicer than that , so I welded it.

A previous owner also decided to go crazy on the firewall with a hole saw. I don't know why anyone would cut a big hole like that. And what for?

Well after a few weeks of working on it, The firewall is finally painted! While I did it I put another coat on the frame too, just to thicken it up a bit.

Kinda funny, I've got a "punched" hole in mine as well in almost the same spot! Keep up the good work!

I made a little progress today. Got the steering box on. It is officially the first part to be put on the truck!!

IMG_7501.JPG
Also started stripping the rear of the frame. Flap discs work soooo much better than wire wheels!

Wow, that is ironic. Maybe there was some sort of popular accessory back in the day that required a wire run through. Like maybe a CB Antenna?
