Great work! That POR-15 is some nasty stuff. I bought $15 Harbor Freight paint guns to spray mine with. Went through 4 of them over the course of a year before I finished coating all my parts before top coating with Eastwood Gloss Chassis Black. Cheap and disposable.

Well, I was hospitalized from mid-January till early April and I'm still getting back into the swing of things. I do have an update though, and that is the news that I've passed the project on to my older brother as I am/will be incapable of making any progress on it for a long time yet. I'll update y'all whenever he accomplishes something major, though.

Minor update: My brother mocked up the body on the chassis to conserve space, but it probably won't get any farther till the rainy season hits.

I looks great mock-up, but that has to do with all your good work. Hope your recovery is going well.

A few minor updates on the truck, my brother has primed it and finished the bodywork on it and he's putting on a second coat of primer as I type this. There were a few hiccups, the biggest one was when he realized part of the roof next to the drip rail on the passenger was rotted out. My neighbor swung by with his welder and now it's patched and the rest of the cab was carefully looked over for any other rust. Also, the truck was sent off to a shop to get the gaps professionally set, which was a good thing because the bed needed 1/2 inch shims under all 4 corners to line it up with the cab. That's all I can think of for now, if I remember I'll post a pic of the truck once it's primed again.

I just looked through old pictures and wow I missed a lot! We picked up a second Dana 24 t-case from an old-timer who loves bumpsides just for the shifter since ours was m.i.a., my brother got an oem small steering shaft from a wrecker and my neighbor cut the end of the 2wd steering shaft off, figured out how long the long shaft needed to be, and welded the end from a 71 Chevy C20 steering shaft to the Ford shaft so we'd have a splined end and the shaft would be the right length. Also, my brother painted the gaps and the inside/underside of the cab while it was off of the truck for the roof repair.

Huh. I can see them on safari when I'm not logged in (which is my go-to method for seeing if images work) so I'm not sure what's wrong. I do have an update, just this morning I bought a 1971 F250 4x4 that my brother will be using as a basis for re-assembling his truck. It will get it's own thread, however.

Replacement bed pt. 2 has had the end that faces the cab painted and it has been set on the frame, if all goes well it will get bolted down later today.
