THanks! My dad, buddy and I made it. then i whipped the skidplate up at work with the boss's help. turned out pretty goodcw4rdmn wrote:Cool truck 71ford Where did you get that bumper, or did you make it?
i dont want to take this thread too far off topic of awesome 4x4 pictures but heres some pictures of the bumper.
Its big because in desert racing you don't hear horns.. you ram them
Bumper still needs 3 lights in the center and a nerf pad on the hoop

What kind of flatbed is that?? Do you have anymore pictures of it and what are the measurements? I'm trying to get ideas for a flatbed for my CS.averagef250 wrote:Here's mine.

Re: Post your 4X4 pictures HERE!!
It's steel, .120" diamond plate deck and 18" up the rack with 2X4 stake pockets, frame and headache rack is 2X3 .120" wall. 6.5' wide, 8' long. Expanded metal at the window opening. The bed looks farm built to me. I got it on a wrecked 90's dodge cummins truck I bought and redid the rack to my liking. I redid the mounting points to bolt to stock bed holes and most of the welds underneath as they weren't the prettiest. The bed actually weighs less than a regular 67-72 8' box with tailgate.
If I'd have built it from scratch I'd have used 2X4 .250 wall for the main frame, it gives a bit as is with more than a ton on it and would never fly as a dump bed.
From scratch I'd also have used plain steel or wood for the deck as diamond plate is hard to maintain. It's very difficult to keep clean and far more expensive than regular steel plate.

Here's mine:
Grandpa bought it new. I started driving it when I was 5 (Really! On my knees in granny chasing cows. Dad would put it in granny and get out. I could stop with key and start in gear with the starter, and it had a hand throttle for speed adjustment-pretty slow in granny with 4:10's.)
