gents, got a line on a low milage 460 and tranny out of a 1995 motor home, has any one tried to put one of these in our trucks, Just seeing what I need to maybe make this happen. Nothing wrong with the 360/C6 combo I have, just looking for something different.
Thanks

Re: FI 460?
I am right in the middle of it. Just trying to decide which transmission controller I am going with. Mine is out of a 92 motorhome. I converted mine to carburetor. What are you wondering?

Gaslight, well, to stay injected or carb? with no modifications, what carb are you running? did the tranny come with the engine? what intake are you running? Also, any engine bay mods? have not pulled the trigger on the getting the engine/tranny combo yet

Re: FI 460?
So I am using the original FI intake. No one makes an aftermarket intake that fit the 460 FI heads. You would have to put on early heads to use an aftermarket intake. I used this kit.

I am installing a 750 vacuum secondary Holley carburetor. Yes I bought the engine with its transmission. Its a E4OD. There are a couple of companies out there that offer controllers for the transmission and I have not picked one. I will need to run a TPS sensor to tell the E4OD when to shift. Holley makes a kit to bolt one to the carburetor. But not with a manual choke. So that is what I am trying to work out right now. I have a couple of ideas. I also ordered up a complete Pertronix distributor and ignition system.
Engine bay mods are minimal. I collected a set of 460 perches and mounts from dentside. I am not sure where the manual fan will end up yet so I am waiting to get everything installed. The alternator can be done several different ways but I already switched the truck to a modern alternator so the will be no issue for me.
Did I miss anything?
