So how to fix this. Well obviously the bend needs to come out. But how. Well the way Jeff Ford at Autorestomod did it is he put his in a fixture in a vise and bent it back. On Youtube, Autorestomod Episode 379. I made a valiant attempt to do this but I could not get it to work. Everytime I tried to clamp it down it would pop out of the vise. You have to get it perfect. The one time I got it chucked up firm it popped out as soon as I started to do the bend. Now this might be possible with a helper, Jeff has Cameron, but I could not get this to work by myself. It's interesting to note that he does not actually show them putting it in the vise and bending it. I am guessing they had a hard time with it. I had to find a better way, at least for me.

This worked like a champ, (or so I thought). I still need to bend the upper flange back to the correct angle.

This made things a lot better. I did not get a picture but the top part of the mount fit flush against the firewall. This however did not help with the lower part line up with the floor pan. I decided the only way to fix this was to disassemble the mount.

At this point I put the upper half of the mount onto the cab. I discovered that the bend was not as flat as I thought. Or I may have taken the bend out when I bent the upper mounting flange. Anyway It occurred to me that I should have done all my bending after I separated the two pieces.

With that complete I placed it on the cab. Then I had to address the lower part of the mount.

Finished Product. This was actually less work than the replacing the floor support end.

Once again life has gotten in the way. Seems like as soon as I get a good head of steam something takes me away from this project. My daughter had a blow out in her Civic and it caused a lot of damage. It's actually totalled but I am going to use some of my developing skills to fix it. Looks like I will be working on it for a while. The only positive is that I get to practice on shooting some paint. Practice that I need as I have painted very little, and never Basecoat Clearcoat. In fact the most painting I have done was on this frame. That's it for now, I will post as soon as I can.
