I hear you Bobby. Didn't get out to do anything this weekend and next weekend doesn't look good either. I have to travel for work on the 12th so I will be away on Valentines day which makes for limited truck time. :(

Mr Bobby, I  hope that is a happy, healthy, busy life getting in the way and you "find" time to get back working on the trucks.

Wishing you the best.
I enjoy your posts/photo/information.
God bless you sir.

Thanks bud. I’m working long hours and have two trucks apart 🫤
The short bed only needs paint at this time but my focus is my Unibody.

I haven’t worked in two months. Almost had back surgery. I still might need surgery.
Decided to try to get that hood scoop going.
This shaker hood scoop is a replica of a 1969 Mustang shaker hood scoop. Many pieces.
The difference between the Mustang and my F100 is, the carb on my truck is closer to the cowl than it is on a 1969 Mustang. Also, the F100 has 1-1/2”offset to the right. I need to offset the scoop left and about 3” forward to make sure that the scoop is in an aesthetically pleasing location in the hood. I chopped the crap out of the intermediate plate and discarded the flapper and vac diaphragm.

I made a plate out of mild steel and moved the rear attachment points from the flapper plate forward onto my plate.

I bought the 16” concourse replica air cleaner base for $400 and immediately chopped it up

It took me a while to piece in some metal, this air cleaner base is thinner gauge than the original so it is difficult to MIG weld without blowing holes in it. I made a little progress today.

There are two more handmade pieces that will go into the bottom of this base. The air filter will be an 11” K&N Xtreme (with open filter top.)
I figure once these pieces are in place, I will need to increase the overall height of the air cleaner base about 1” to 1-1/2”, meaning I will cut around the circumference and add a band of 22 gauge sheet metal to increase the height.
