Hello all. I've lurked her for years but now that I have some time for my '69 F100, I thought I should join. Years ago I was in a rush one day and backed into my shop with the door open; hyper extending it. I replaced the hinges and was able to get it to close again, but it was never the same regardless of how I adjusted it. Now that I'm into my restoration, should I find a new cab or can this be repaired some how? Did the door pillar get bent or is the door internal mounting points damaged? I would post pics but it's not obvious what the problem is. Has this happened to anyone before and what can I do so it closed like it did before? Thanks

Without seeing the damage this can be hard to diagnose and explain.

It could be the pillar and /or the door are bent a little.
Look for some cracked paint in the jamb area where things have flexed.
maybe some careful measuring and compare to the opposite side

with the door on you can wedge something (block of wood / steel ) into the hinge and force the door to close a little at a time ,.keep checking.
It helps to take the striker bolt out so you can see how the door fits without interference.

Anything that gets bent can usually get straightened again.

You can check a tight spot on the seal by closing a piece of paper into the door.
you should feel resistance when you pull the paper out , but not rip it in half.
