Re: Alan's 1967 Shortbed Stepside 4WD
I really like this truck, she’s coming along nicely.
I like both sets of wheels but think it will look really good with he OE wheels and some A/T tires.

Thanks DuckRyder! That's exactly my choice: I'm going with OE wheels and wider Goodrich A/T's I think will look will look very good with tjhe lettering mounted inside. Doors are rebuilt with new rubber, felting and newly re0chromed OE door handles. I think the reproduction stuff just doesn't have the heft and depth of chrome as the OEs....

This thing is gorgeus i love it!!! such a neat truck. I love the wheels idea i would possibly say go with 15x8 or 15x10 from wheel vintiques. They sell a oe wheel just a little wider. With black wall Bfg all terrains!!! Man i can't wait to see this thing done!! Congratulations on a beautiful truck!67Step4WD wrote: That's exactly my choice: I'm going with OE wheels and wider Goodrich A/T's I think will look will look very good with tjhe lettering mounted inside.

Re: Alan's 1967 Shortbed Stepside 4WD
Wow thanks guys! I've been off here for a week but very grateful for the positive comments! I didn't think there would be that much love for a 6cyl 4WD. Thanks for the tip on the larger steelies, I'm going to start with OEM, but I suspect I might want an OE look slightly wider look. OK so next shots are of the truck bed disassembled, after all the hammering, blocking, sanding ready for paint, I'm keeping all the original panels, so honestly getting them straight while using nothing but light skim has been hard. It might not look line it, but this is maybe 1-2oz of skim on the total back end, the rest was hammer, metal fill.

Rangoon Red PPG Paint Pedro. It's the paint code on the original order sheet, I'm not sure how accurate the PPG match is but it looks darn close to me!pedro69ford wrote:Nice paint,if I may ask, what brand and color is it?

My one extragevant move : I'm sending these front hood emblems to Classic Auto Services in NH to be polished, pit-removed, re-chromed and painted. These are 1967 only as they needed reflectors after this year. Shout out to Bob Waller there as he does really excellent work and he is doing these Roll-Royce quality at an F100 price!
