If 500 is for a complete rebuild of the heads with hardened exhaust valve seats, that's a good deal.

Are you changing out the cam and lifters to match your new intake manifold and carburetor?

No. Im a bit worried about blowing the rings but ill take it easy breaking in the heads.
I talked to the head guy yesterday when i dropped em off. Hes literally 2mins from my house. He has a oval asphalt race car with an old school ford straight 4 banger.

If you aren't getting hardened seats installed do not waste money on rebuilding them. You would be better off looking for a set of 1975 to 1977 truck heads as they will have hardened seats in them already.

Sorry. Yes the seats below the springs are gonna be the hard ones for the newer ethonal gas. All new hardware in the heads. I meant no new cam or lifters.
When i dropped em off he pointed out someone had already tried to drill out those stuck bolts... so he can fill em and put a new hole where it belongs and tap it but thats not ideal. Said he was gonna look for some other or better heads to re do for me. We will see.

Today i focused on removing that floor trim and opening up the inside of the passenger door to see why it wouldnt roll down. Just needed a good wd 40ing. However i had to drill and easy out 4 or so rusted bolts.

I did clean this up a bit more but still no bueno to use imo.




Inside of door. Just needed a good spray of wd40. Went back together a lot faster than apart. Lol

Today i got some wiring cleaned up. Spray paint on the side fenders. Black boom mat on the back firewall.
Needs a second coat later on that boom mat.
Also put the new brake.master cylinder on. The old one was full.of rust... might do new brake lines and trans cooler lines.
Tranny parts are here for the most part or what i think i need.
Top end parts are showing up. Got my intake and carb shipped out late last week.

I really wanna clean my rocker arm assemblies. Is there any plastic or rubber in there i should worry about? I was gonna dip em and scrub em real good in some chem dip... i just need another gal.of it and a container.

Make sure you take them apart and clean them so you get all the crap out of the tube my first rebuild i didn't i did on my next motor because the spring where broke and alot of crap came out.

K. So some minor disassembly and re assembly is required . Will do. Im guessing ill see the tube when i disassemble the rocker arm assembly?

More destruction! Gotta tear em down to build it back up.
Ive decided im not gonna do any welding and let my pro friend do it as he could use the work and $. Also i would rather it be done right the 1st time.
Toar my heater box and remaining fire wall out. Hit the engine bay firewall with a 2nd light coat.

I tried to remove my e brake but i cant figure out how. Pics to follow. If anyone has advice or can advise me thanks!
