Driveway cab swap gone wild

Post by Sharkdance »

Continuation of this thread:
http://www.fordification.com/forum/view ... 9332#59332

This project was started as a simple "quick cab swap".
Not perfect. And not up to Keiths standards by any means. But in the interest of doing what you can with what you got, Here is what a gallon of Superclean, a pressure washer, a wire wheel on a drill, and 2 quarts of Rustolium rust preventative paint looks like.

You know you are going to have to clean that engine up and paint it, might as well reseal it...

While you got it apart, might as well throw a cam in it.....

Thanks for the kind words and encouragement guys.

Leadfoot, I plan on switching over to disk on the front. But that will have to come later. My budget is more than tapped out on my current cab swap project.
I did however do a complete overhaul/replacement of the existing drum brakes including drums, wheel cylinders, harware, and shoes on all 4 corners last year so it stops pretty good as is untill I can do the disk swap.

DuckRyder, Ive already taken care of the drippies on that engine when I did the Streetmaster manifold and Mallory distributor. Did the oil pan too.
I know it looks rough, but it runs realy good.
Plus, I have a spare FE out of my donor truck to build up while I ride some miles on this one.

The cab is now in place.
Including a few pix of the hoist and chain method I used for those who are like me and forced to attempt this task alone.
