Tailgate trim question

Post by AlleyCat »

Has anyone ever seen a trim panel like this one before?

Image

All the others I've seen had argent letters with a black back ground or vise versa.

looks like it has been all chromed, or everything was stripped off it.
i just got finished polishing mine, it should have black letters and grey backround with chrome only around the outside.

the first one has been stripped. it looks great. there are two type of these type of trim for our years. and there might be other for the 73-79 and ranger xlt woodgrain ones. i know the one ryan has is year correct for 67=69. i think in 70 is when they went to the one clay is showing.

Just wondering, what are these things worth? A great shape (a 67-69 one)?

Restoring a '69 F100. I can see that the tailgate trim is riveted on and that the rivets have to be drilled out to remove the tailgate FORD panel. Anybody know the best way to reattach the trim after the tailgate is painted.
