1972 302 Original Color

Post by Subzero »

Truck is off at the body shop right now getting painted but I am left with the task of reprinting all the engine components and the engine itself when it gets back from the machine shop. The engine surprisingly still has much of the paint left on it but since it's old and faded it's hard to color match. What's the original correct Ford blue color for a F100 302 made in 1972? Also if anyone has used a good high temp engine paint? Thanks y'all

The engine is blue- looks darker than the blue on my 1968 360 truck I had. I can't remember what paint I used last time but the area of the head where the exhaust ports are had burned off the paint after only a short time. I'd like to get a strong paint so it doesn't do that this time of they make one. Duplicolor and VHT paints are the only aerosol can paints out there I've found

POR 15 Engine enamel is excellent.

I used to have a post that showed the 3 colors of "Ford Blue" but it seems to be gone :cuss: and I don't remember which is which...

IIRC you want the middle color...
