Which way is up on cargo light? I've seen both ways. Cant find a factory pic clear enough. should ford script be rightside up?

I can't see mine right now but I believe the longer flat side goes down.
They were originally a mid sixties T Bird back up light , then turned upside down for cargo lights.

I knew they were off the t birds, the gasket seems to fit best with the wide side up top.

Your post made me think about when I was in High School in the mid 80s new vehicles started being equipped with third brake lights. I think it was 85 when they began to show up which was in my wheel house of trying to one up the other rides at school my sophomore year. I painted the cargo lamp lens red from the inside, ran a wire to the brake lights and made myself a third brake light for the 69 (same one I still own pictured to the right) and was the only truck in town with such.

I've done some looking.
And while they'll fit either way the factory put the wide side down, opposite of the T Bird.

Proper factory installation shows the taper of the bezel getting narrower as it goes up.
