I bought the "F O R D" vinyl letters from NPD for the tailgate of my 72 F100. They came on a long banner basically as one big sticker. Has anyone applied these to their tailgate before? What is the best way to do this? You can't just peel off the back and stick the whole thing on as one piece...not with it being raised lettering on the tailgate and all. I feel like I need to cut them out, but that seems pretty meticulous.
Suggestions?

I haven't seen that particular decal, but with the embossed letters it might be simpler to put each letter on separately.
I like putting stickers on wet , spray the panel and the decal with water (a little soap helps) .
position it where you want it , then squegee the water out starting in the center and moving it outwards.
A CLEAN bondo spreader works , or a credit card will too.
When its wet you can lift it and move it if you want , but after you squegee it it's there.
leave the top paper on until you're done ,then carefully peel it off.

Very nice , and cheaper than a sticker.

Very nicely done! Love how it turned out!
I have to replace the tailgate on my 67 F100, when I do I will most definitely paint the letters on.
