differential lockers
I have recently been rebuilding my '71Ford F-250 4x4 and i ve got a six inch lift and 37 inch pittbull rockers and 4.56 gears but, when it came to lockers i was a little low on funds so I am wondering if it would affect anything if I put A Eaton e-locker in the rear and a automatic detroit locker in the front. I am just wondering if it would hurt anything .also, this truck will be my daily driver when its complete.

Re: differential lockers
Put whatever you want in the rear, but a detroit in the front makes 4x4 less practical. You will have a hard time steering in 4x4 mode.
Dana 44's aren't the toughest thing, especially with 4.56 or lower gears in them. Adding a spline locker just aggravates it. Something for the front (if you really think you need it to not be open) that will help a little, but not contribute to breaking parts would be a loose clutch type limited slip like a track-lok or powerlock with the plates stacked for less bias. True-tracs are nice too, but they still lock pretty hard under power, not something you want in a 4x4 front end you may want to actually drive on a a snowy day or ice.

An arb in the front is good too, that way you can leave it open till you really need it, but averagef250 has a good point regarding your front axle lacking toughness. If you're gonna be wheeling hard enough to need a front locker, you might want to considering upgrading to a dana 60 before investing more in your dana 44. Too bad people selling the high pinion, kingpin dana 60 tend to think they are made of gold. You can always lock the rear but leave the front open, then see how well it holds up and also get an idea how often you find yourself wishing you had a front locker.
Pitbull Rockers are awesome, I've been impressed with mine so far.
