Re: Build, Break, Fix, Repeat
Spinning in the snow-then caught a hard and big rock?
Been there-done that with my 76'EB. I launched it, (fronts 6 feet off the ground-rears two feet) coming up a hill in Florida. The front CV's don't like that WOT-then "we need traction" stuff!
Did it take both inners and outers?

Took out left side inner and outer shafts and put that crack in the steering knuckle. I wasn't even on the skinny pedal, I think the ujoint was worn and the yokes were stretched out from earlier wheeling adventures.

Our trucks have a way of finding the "weak link". Do you have a line on the axle shafts yet?I think the ujoint was worn and the yokes were stretched out from earlier wheeling adventures.
Maybe try DTS, if i remember way...back then they actually sold an "improved" version of axle shafts. "Improved" meaning possibly a harder grade of steel and shafts they were a consistent thickness, (where the diameter was not turned down over the length of the shaft).
Some parts have actually evolved into a better quality over time, (unlike most cheaper repopped parts).

Good point. That was a dana 60 35 spline stub that broke. The 35 spline outers are thicker than the regular 30 spline but still not strong enough. This time I'm upgrading to 4340 inner and outer shafts. They are way beefier!
