F250 4x4 rear leaf spring bushing

Post by 71PA_Highboy »

Are they the same as the F250 2WD or are they different. Does anyone sell a poly kit or am I going nuts looking?

TIA

Eric

I would think they would be the same up to 77.5. But unfortunatelty I don't know. I'm sure you have checked Bronco graveyard? For what its worth I put the rubber ones back in mine. Figured if the lasted that long, should be good enough for me  .

Check NPD I was looking at them last night but I can't remember, it seems like they are different though.

So I went to Mecca... took the leaf springs into Summit Racing.

NOTHING fits.

That said, IF you were to leave the Outer Liner in the spring eye, and machined the bushings to have a different inner steel spacer and cut the bushings down, you could use a 73-77 F250 4wd Kit.

If you just wanted to machine the outside and replace one of the inner steel spacers (on each side), you could use the energy suspension '3 bushing shackle' setup, but it does not have enough of the inner steel spacers of the right size to do the job....

Caveat... I removed the original outer steel bushing retainer.... if that were left in place, the 73-77 kit would be EASIER to machine to fit, but would NOT directly fit.

I will be calling Prothane Monday to see what they can do....

More later.

Well,

Prothane, Energy suspension and Daystar only sell based on application, and if you call their tech line they have no way to look up bushings by dimension. How stupid can you be?

Anyway, here are the dimensions required for the bushings as far as I can tell... I will be having some made next week, so I will let you know how it works out.
