Must be a geographic thing. 5 lug 4x4 stuff is sold by weight around here. Most like the ease of finding any wheel/tire for 8 lug and the larger brakes/full float hubs and other positives of the 8 lug axles.
There are also guys converting 4X4 Blazers into the much rarer 2X's! I don't think it is geographic, I think it is the circle you travel in. I don't own any 5 lug stuff and none of my friends do either but we sure sell a lot of it at the swap meets from Hershey to Pomona. Hawkrod

Totally with you on that one here is Georgia Five lugs get scrapped out and eight lugs bring weight in gold.
