I recently bought a 76 F 250 with a 4" lift for parts and the drive shafts had an inch of splines showings
and after I striped the frame and unloaded the suspension the brake lines were too short :2cents:

For what it is worth, I ran a 4 inch lift on my 72 F100 and did not need to do anything on the driveshafts. I wheeled my truck and never had issues.

I did need new brakelines. I used http://www.inlinetube.com/ and was really pleased with thier product.
