What's your Trucks name?

Post by cavedweller »

I sat around for a bit :hmm: wondering what to call my friend in the driveway the hauls my fat butt to work. After a little time together he has let his personality shine through. When I got him he had a lariat in the bed tool box and a flip up cowboy hat holder. And it just the right color of yellew I think almost the color of a bay horse even if my wife says baby poop yellow  . I have named him Cowboy. We listen old Willie, or Alen Jackson going to work and coming home. I think both of us like a little slower pace of life. So around 7:30am me and that old Cowboy get up and go to work and somewhere between 4-5 we stop and get a bear and enjoy a nice ride slow 40-45 mph ride home along the lake and just unwind. Then were both just right when we get here :) :) :) .
Layed back and relaxed ..................................................... and life is good................... No it is very good.

mine has always been known as "the 4 By" never really got around to naming her other than that.
But I admit it gets confusing when there is more than 1 four wheel drive in the yard! :-)

It depends on if I am mad with it or happy with it. Most of the time it is "The Ford"

Mine will be called "Struggle Buggy" or "herkymer". Dad called his 39 lincoln zephyr v-12 no less struggle buggy. I thought that was cool as anything.

Wow I guess Im kinda lame, but my ol '67 F-100 was named Elane. I cant remember why because it was long ago that I started calling her that. My girlfriend/wife would always give me an earfull when i would ask her "go and get Elane" from the back of the property while im running late and what not. People that werent around us (Elane and I) often would freak when I reffered to the truck in that manner. I havnt had the heart to name any others after she was totalled. It has been the green truck or the brown truck after that.

My '68 F100 is named Frankie. That's short for Frankenstein, because like the monster in the book, he's cobbled together from many different sources. I count parts from at least 4 different model years, and the 390 is out of a car.

My uncle named it Fred years ago, so who am I to go changing it now? And the longer I own and drive it, the more it seems to fit.

The day I brought her home some friends and I brainstormed names:
"Big Billy"
"Empty Wallet"
"Parked"
"Home Depot Express"
"5 dollars gets you nowhere"
"Monthly Driver"
"Compensating for Something?"

My four year old calls her "Papa's Beautiful Truck".
Then when the truck doesn't start she says, "Papa need a new old truck".

Cheers,
Bill

I had a 67 F100 2wd that I got from my dad. At one time it was about 9 different colors until I rattle canned it with primer. It wasn't pretty and Road Dog seemed to fit. My old neighbor would always call it Old Faithful because it would sit and sit, but every time I needed to use the truck, it fired right up. Yep, ran on 7 cylinders and used 60w oil to get the oil pressure to read on the gauge.

They're not broken! One's in pieces waiting for re-assy, the other runs, just makes clicking noises!
Speaking of broken, did you ever figure out the mis-firing?
