front bumper brackets

Post by 1971ford »

So you have to have some sort of brackets to mount a stock chrome front bumper to a 4x4? What do they look like? pics?

F100 4x4's are pretty close to a 2wd. The 250 4x4's use special brackets just like the F-350 and larger 2wd trucks do. The F-250 4x4 bumper brackets are the same from 67-77.5 and are on most F-350 2wd and larger trucks too if they had the pickup style front bumper.

Something I always thought about doing if a guy couldn't find them. Use the front section of a two wheel drive frame (which are easy to find) cut it off and make a set. I never tried it but why wouldn't it work? :dk:

i looked at doing that. and on the 2wd frame where that angled slot is . it is raised in that area on the one i looked at. so it made it too short tocut off and use to have enough there to make the attachment. but you could cut off more of the frame and try and bolt them on anyway.

They will probably straighten out when the bumper bolts are tightened. :2cents: Might have had a bent bumper on there before :? .
