Tony, did you get many speeding tickets?
Great ideas have always encounter violent opposition from mediocre minds.

I ride the Harley when ever I get the chance, if not that the 68 does just fine.

In answer to JB's question about tickets , no JB that's was strictly survival you either ran 85-100 mph or you'd have a Benz or Bmw for a ball hitch ornament
Had a guy in a new plain jane 04 hemi follow me into a gas station on my way home one day , He asked me if I felt safe running that fast in that ragged POS, I told him 5 days a week 2 trips a day . And reminded him who got to the station first , He stated if I could have gotten around you I'd have run off and left ya. I told him that was my point exactly , "You might out run this old POS , but can you out drive me ". He walked off kicking rocks and mumbling about silly old redneck so-in-so.

I drive my 1970 Highboy almost as much as i do my Economy Ford. I can't complain to much about the gas milage. with the 390, I get roughly 15-16 MPG. The way I see it is, no matter how ugly it is, if it runs it should be driven regularly with pride. After all we are sporting the best built trucks ever.

re: Who drives their trucks?
I drive my 76f150 daily now that my transmission in the taurus car i drive shelled which was a blessing gave me the excuse to drive it... besides my 6 banger is hurting and my motto is i don't have no trailer queens at my house because if i can't drive it ain't much use in having it because these old trucks were meant to be work horses, not pretty but to drive back and forth to work which is only 2 miles so about 4miles a day plus some odds and end stuff thinking about having the 6 rebuilt so i might buy this 64 or so ford and drive it while i'm rebuilding the six, but also have the 71 sitting in the yard wondering what i'm going to do with her she has a 360 in it that i was going to pull out and put in my 76 but with gas prices don't know beside i just can't seem to part with her, is that not sick or what, just a ford man blue oval's run in my vain, heck sold all my chevy's other than the wifes new 2005 Express but that's for the family...Terry

re: Who drives their trucks?
Soon as I get the intake, carb, push rods, rocker arms, and a few other odds and ends peices back on it, it will be my daily driver. My wife said it better be by next weekend or I am going to look funny walking to work. I hope she is kidding. I have been driving her Honda Del Sol, kinda hard to get in and out of. I will be glad to get the truck back on the road. 36 mile round trip to work plus service calls.
