I can sell you all the cab mounts in Ford NOS stuff for less. I pieced it all together from about 8 different places and ended up not using the parts. I can email you a picture of the stuff and a price if you would like.As for the transfer case bushings if I remember right there is a square rubber and a round rubber on each bolt. I'm pretty sure the square rubbers can still be ordered from Ford. The round ones if I remember right are discontinued.

I belive I sprayed it when it was still tacky. On the quantity I think I had ordered the little pints a total of like 6 and a pint or 2 of the chassis and a bottle of solvent. Later on I ordered my engine enamel and solvent. You can never have enough of their solvent I recommend 2 bottles, nothing takes that stuff off but their solvent even your skin for about 2 weeks. I ended up with quite a rash the 1st time :lol:Just make sure your covered up when spraying it with proper ventilation As for your transfercase mounts the rubber ford ones will run you about 100 bucks total for all 8 pieces when I priced them from the local dealership So I opted for the prothanes for about 50 bucks. They have brass inserts molded in them and hold up better than the rubber with less movement. The prothane Part # is 6-1601(Made in the USA)

Oh man, glad you asked I spent about 3 hours today sandblasting. It was a BLAST no pun intended. I get off on sandblasting! Anyhow, I did some on my frame, but completely cleaned up my 2 motor mount towers, 2 front shock mounts, 2 side tranny mounts ( the side things that the center cross member mount mounts to), and the clutch bottom cover. I worked a bit on my leaf spring shackles and several other odds and ends like the bell housing and clutch lever. I might go back up tonight when the wife gets home and do some more. I will take the camera back up and get some pics. I cannot wait to get the frame done so I can do some POR15ing! Maybe next weekend I will be that far.

For those of you that are experienced with sandblasting, I am using a sand that is called StarBlast. Pretty fine stuff. I am wondering if you think this would warp the metal on the body if I didn't do an area very big at once. I blasted my floor tranny cover today and it didn't seem to bother it any at all. This is too fun! Ok, I am sick.

It's not the grit that will warp a body panel, it's the heat caused from high air pressure. If you're sandblasting at home with a Harbor Freight unit and running it with a compressor with 120 PSI like most of us, I don't think it's possible to warp a body panel. It just doesn't have enough pressure. I've sandblasted body panels with mine, and they don't even get warm, let alone hot enough to warp things.
Now, hooking up a sandblaster to a two-stage commercial-type compressor capable of 175 PSI, that's a whole different story!

I am glad to hear I won't warp it with my setup. I couldn't imagine doing so but I just didn't know for sure. I actually got quite a bit done today on the blasting side. I put several pics up im my gallery, nothing big just blasted parts I hope to work on my frame this coming week and finish it next weekend. I am just itching to POR something . I just want something to look like it is part of a new truck. Welp, according to my puter clock it is 1:30 am and I am bushed.FORDification wrote:It's not the grit that will warp a body panel, it's the heat caused from high air pressure. re: Fordfool's '70 Crewcab 4x4x4 project
I spent 8 hours today sandblasting my frame. I was dog tired when I got home, but made good progress. I figure one more day like this and I can start PORing the frame and a bunch of little parts I have cleaned up. I wonder how many square miles are on a frame! I don't really care about the rust as the rust is supposed to make the POR stick better, but there is a lot of black paint and some grease still attached. I didn't take any pics today. Maybe next week I will. I am pooped.

Make sure you use Marine Clean to clean the frame before you use the Por-15. Grease won't let anything make a proper bond to the steel.
