oh yeah and the truck ended up being only $100 plus a job at a welding shop
also i noticed something totally crazy. so i thought this project would end when i turn 16 (im 14.3 now), but im allready a quarter way through the project! all ive got to do is POR-15 chassis, strip paint, paint and reassemble! and deal with the engine etc.

im getting some headers from mugwump, ill include more info in this weekend's update.
this weekend should be CRAZY. im hoping to get the truck to the welding shop (might no happen), the engine will be pulled, i want to get the camper shell off and get sanding supplies from the paint store. oh and i am going to pick up my AM radio from green70.
it will be interesting to see what happens

BIG update :
what an exciting weekend
got a lot done!
heres what i got done:
-towed the bump out with my other bump
-took over the garage
-when to Green70's house and got a 4 barrel intake and AM radio from green70 (his truck is unbelievably awesome! he should get a pic of his engine up here
-dented my new hood - see pics
-removed various trim
-rented a engine puller
-bought a engine stand
-PULLED THE ENGINE!
-took the head off of the engine and the other exhaust manifold. scraped the old gaskets off. cleaned the engine a little for its long rest in the garage.
-rode in the bump while my dad and brother pushed me back to the other garage
-spent a HUGE amount of time taking every single part that wont be sanded on and painted, and moved it to my "play house" (a little house in our backyard that is now full of parts after i thoroughly cleaned it)
-spent 1 hour uploading photos and making this update for you
tow straps hooked up:
kicked my moms car out the garage so the bump could spend the night
slowly taking over garage :
GOT A 4 BARREL INTAKE! from green70 for $20 - good deal? (none of us knew what it was worth)
got a very nice AM radio from green70 for $35
came back to see my hood fell over!
NOW MY NEW HOOD IS DENTED!!!! i dont even know if bondo will fix it. there is a small bump that runs down the middle hump, which is pushed in im sure ill think of something
this is what drip-rail trim looks like when its off:
YEAH!!!!
the only picture i have of my two bumps together
look at this -
its MEEEEEEEEE riding in the truck while my dad and brother push me
under the oil pan: (this is the only part were not rebuilding)
the engine stand i just bought with the engine after i removed many parts
engine being stored for a while now.
we got the camper shell off FINALLY. i think it look soooooo much better without it. it looks like a .... truck! not a suv. im going to paint the camper shell orange to match the future colors, and i am going to fix the camper shell up.
stripped the back of parts
ready for..... SANDING!!!!!!!!!!!!! then PAINT!!!!!!!!!!
the only parts in my garage are parts that will be sanded. the only exception is the f350 emblem you see in this pic, because it wont come off!

re: a 14 yr olds 69 F100 Ranger project- BIG UPDATE: 3/9
Wow Ryan you did get a lot done. It's looking better all the time.
Just curious but why aren't you rebuilding the lower end of the engine while it's out? I know engine work gets expensive but it sure would be frustrating to get the truck finished then have it break a ring or something and have to yank the engine back out.

You just might get a few opinions regarding that decision
