I found a unusual factory jack at a junkyard today

Post by junkyardjeff »

The last time I was at this yard there were a few 64 to 72 ford trucks in it as I was looking for a step bumper for my 66 but it was cleaned out recently so there was nothing,I looked under the hood of all the ford trucks to see what motors were in there and when I looked in a mid 70s 4X4 shortbed there was this unusual jack with a ford part number. It has two places to put the handle, one for a 1 to 1 ratio and the other for a gear reduction and since the 66 needs a jack I bought it and the handle for 5 dollars and looks to be a way heavier duty jack then the normal ones. At first I thought it was a aftermarket jack but it was mounted in a factory looking auxillary battery box on the drivers side,I wish i would of gotten it too but i will go back soon. Jeff

It has the number D7TA-17080-AA stamped in it,I never seen one like it as it could of came with the 4X4 or could be a F350 jack. Its a scissors jack and heavier then what normally comes with the trucks. Jeff
