I just picked up a '68 (today!) with some original marks, including a ink stamp on the firewall which shows which shift built it (?)

"393" was on under the bonnet and the firewall.

I just noticed yesterday while at the shop that in addition to the "166" on the inside of each front fender, on the firewall and on the back of the cab, that number is also written on the front of the box:

I found the "393" on the front of the bed and the back of the cab, both on the driver's side.

I found 1972 on the upper right front of my bed. ( Not original bed )
1967 F250 Camper Special
10MPG with key off, in neutral and going downhill!

Wow...I guess these numbers aren't necessarily dedicated to strictly body parts. While in the shop today moving stuff around I noticed that the "166" that I found on both fenders, the cab firewall and back wall and the front of the box was also written on the bottom of the instrument panel:

Mine has 188 below a grommet (the grommet seen in the picture of keiths red parts truck) on the passenger side.
