Olde Skool update 5/8/07

Post by kaptnkaos »

Hey All...

Today was another productive day.
I got sent home from work at 11am today because there was nothing for me to do. We are in process of moving into our new Counseling and Cultural Center. We packed up all of our stuff and our director hired professional movers to move everything over to the new building . We were just standing around watching the movers, so we got sent home, yes !
With the extra time, I was able to finish up the dash-board wiring, assembled the instrument panel and got it installed, and did some painting until it got dark.
So far every thing seems to work like it should… I didn’t fire the bus up, because I still have to fix the choke so I am not sure about the gauges.

take care,
KaptnKAOS

Hey Paul...

Thanks man... I appreciate you running that over to me...
It's always great to meet other folks with the same interest...
Bump trucks rule !!!
I can't wait to try out the new harness... It's gonna be Saturday, before I'll get to install it
Oh, I forgot to ask ya... which side of the cylinoid does the harness wire go on?
Can't wait to meet yer rig...
I just found out I won the bid on the pair of 32 lcd driving lights... $25 w/s&h... thought that was pretty good.
I can't even imagine how much light that is gonna put out.
I just got an idea... I wonder if I can hook up two different power feeds to the same lights? One from the main system with the back up light switch and one from the secondary (deep cycle) system using two different switches ? That way, I wouldn't need to install the hallogen lights in the back at all. Whatta ya think ?

take care,
KaptnKAOS

Hey RR...

Me either...
I was hoping to make the first maiden voyage with her memorial day weekend. We have a big SCA that weekend. I just have to camp in my Caravan again... It sleeps well, but gets old quick if it rains.
At least with the bus I'll be very comfortable. If my '68 CS was ready I'd just load up the campe on it. But the exhaust is so bad I won't take that far. Right now I have everything out of the cab except what is absolutely necessary for it to be driven... all the vents/heater box/controls/light switch... all I do have in it is 4 screws holding in the dash panel, the ignition switch, saet and steering wheel... I gutted it last fall in preporation to media blast and paint... then ended up having to drive it for a few days while the shop put a tranny in my van. I had to put a few things back... as it is, it can only be driven during the day...
My buddy had a tree fall thru the middle of his house in Dec. (He still isn't able to move back in due to tall the red tape with the insurance company). He's a painter, and was gonna help me.
Oh well, such is life..

Take care,
KaptnKAOS
