I guess it's time to show my tail
Tailgate that is. I needed a tailgate and my 71 tailgate was petty much shot, and I wanted to smooth it out some anyway, so I decided to reskin a 73 tailgate I had. At this point I still have a little tweaking to do, but you as you can see I am getting close. Both body lines had to be changed and the 73 tailgate was a 1/4" thicker at the top body line. As you can see I still haven't got my rollpan welded on either.

Here is the front, I need to get a picture of the side of the cab. I have shaved the vertical part of the gutter welded the seam above the back glass and getting ready to shave the door handles.greenmeanie48 wrote:look good ! lets see the rest of truck !

White with tinted windows would look killer.Randle wrote:As of now, I am thinking about white pearl.dablack00 wrote:I like it. Looks good. What color are you going to go with?

What kind of bumper is that? I like the way it rolls back under the grill.

It's not actually a bumper, I cut the top rail off a extra bed I had and turned it upside down and welded it to the stock lower valance. The rollpan on the back is made from the other bed rail.

Here is a picture of the end of the valence when it was tacked up, and when I got it in primer.
