new project

Post by Mr. Fletcher »

i am the proud owner of a 1968 ford F-100, its been sitting in my uncles chicken barn for about 17 years now and well past due time to get it out on the road again. I'm new to restoration but not to turning wrenches, however i am looking for good ideas on powerplant and drive train matchups. if anyone out there can give me their 2 cents on good or bad luck matches it would be much appreciated. the orignal match was a 360 to a 4 speed syn warner, i dont know much about either for my short background is on diesels and heavy equipment, so please educate me on the many options. thanks.

    Mr. Fletcher,

Welcome to the forums and the site...this is an awesome place with awesome folks.

When you get a chance, go to the Welcome Mat forum and introduce yourself there.

Also, we like pictures man! Lots of them.

It sounds like you got a fixer upper.

Your profile says ag tech...you a teacher? If so, the only reason I stayed in High School was becasue of the agriculture classes and FFA. Without them, I surley would have quit school.

Anyways, Welcome again and hang around.

Welcome! We'll look forward to updates and pics!

    I pulled a 352 w/3-speed and dropped in a 360 w/ C6 auto.
    Happy so far!
